Ever heard of the freshmen 15? Let me tell you. It exists. During my first semester of college, I was required to get a meal ticket since I lived on campus. The food the school offered was not the best quality and honestly made me sick. I caught myself eating greasy pizza, tater tots, and chicken nuggets every single day. I started to find myself with little energy, lack of motivation, and honestly just wanted to lay in bed all day. Some would say I was depressed but what it really was... I wasn't fueling my body with the nutrients it needed. Don't head to class on an empty stomach. You'll just sit in class with little to no motivation and no concentration what's so ever. Eating a healthy breakfast has also seen to decrease frustration in college students. College can be stressful and sometimes you don't have time to make yourself breakfast before class. With the right motivation to get up 30 minutes earlier to make yourself a balanced breakfast, it can turn your day from a 1 to a 10 real quick. I now have more energy, I'm more motivated, and I enjoy my days a lot more. Make time for your health and body cause its worth it. Eating a healthy breakfast can help regulate your weight and prevent major fluctuations. College students are on the go 24/7 and eating junk food and candy is always the go-to because its quick and easy to grab on the go. Eating junk food can actually make you more hungry while you sit in class which can lead to weight fluctuations. Even if you're in a hurry to go, grab something healthy instead of junk food. Some healthy on the go snacks include fresh fruit, nuts, veggies, bagels, avocados, and so much more. Although I love my coffee in the mornings, its really only helping me for a couple of hours but turns its back on me once I get to the end of my day. Don't use caffeine to replace a balanced and healthy meal. Fuel your body!
Here is my typical breakfast.
2 scrambled eggs
1 Sliced Avocado
A green smoothie
*1 cup of pineapples
*1 cup of spinach
* 1/2 cup of kale
*1 banana
*1 cup of greek yogurt
Blend and Enjoy!
